Marvin Lee Mumme

March 10, 1948 — February 23, 2025

Pocatello

Marvin "Bud" Lee Mumme, 76, passed away on February 23, 2025.

Marvin Lee Mumme was born March 10, 1948, to Alton Leonard Mumme and Ruth Dora Thompson, and passed away February 23, 2025, from a long battle with cancer. Marvin was the 2nd of 7 children. He grew up in the south Pocatello area. He attended schools at Whitaker Elementary, Hawthorne Jr High, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1967. After high school graduation, Marvin enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served a 4-year term and served the majority of that in Germany.

After his return home, in 1972, he married Cinda Croxall and together they had a daughter, Terry. Marvin and Cinda later divorced. Marvin then met and married Carolyn Snooks in 1982. They had two boys together, Jeremy and Brian. In this marriage, he also gained two stepsons, Jeff and Brad.

Marvin was employed with FMC/Astaris for many years and took an early retirement in 2002, due to complications from diabetes, which eventually took his sight. This was one of the toughest obstacles Marvin faced in his life. He wasn’t able to do the things he loved like he wanted to, and that was very frustrating for him.

Marv loved hunting and roaming the hills behind his childhood home, being outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. Marvin was an avid fly tier and gold panner. He loved painting and photography, camping and fishing in the North Fork and hunting trips up Pebble Creek with close friends, siblings, and nieces and nephews. He also loved going to Cabela’s, Sportsman Warehouse, and mostly, Smith and Edwards.

Marvin is survived by his children, Terry Mumme, Medical Lake, WA, Jeffery (Angela) Van Sickle, Pocatello ID; Bradley (Amanda) Van Sickle, Nampa ID; Jeremy Mumme, Nampa ID; and Brian Mumme, Pocatello ID. Siblings, Ruthie (Larry) Matthews, (Lewiston, ID); Marlene (Mike) Goddard,(Kansas); Robert (Michelle) Mumme, Pocatello ID; Donna (Joseph) Radeck, Pocatello, ID; 10 grandchildren and one great grandson, with one great granddaughter on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Carolyn (Snooks), brothers, Charles (Todd), and David (Otto) Mumme, and Charles and Corrine Snooks (father and mother-in-law)

As a family, we want to thank the Portneuf Cancer Center staff, (especially all those cute and sweet nurses who let him flirt with them), the VA clinic, Angelyn Norgaard, and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice.

We know that Marvin is at peace now and can see all colors! He is reunited with his parents, brothers, and sweetheart, Carolyn. Till we meet again dear Marvin.
