September 18, 1953 — March 18, 2025

Soda Springs

Martin Luther Spruill was born September 18, 1953 in California to Joseph Bagget Spruill and Jean Beverly Jenkins. He was 1 of 11 children. Martin moved to Utah at a very early age where he grew up. Martin served in the Army as a tank mechanic and sharp shooter. He later worked in the oil fields, worked as a mechanic, and drove semi hauling livestock. He settled in Soda springs in 1983 with his father and step mother and remained there for 42 years until he passed.

Martin was blessed with 3 children Cody Spruill, Sabrina Spruill Ralphs and Cassie Capps. Following his 3 children he gained 4 step children, 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Martin was 100% cowboy and fulfilled his life by spending all his spare time outdoors Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, 4 wheeling and mountain man rendezvous. Most of all he loved helping all the people he cared about and fixing literally anything. When he was younger he caught the rodeo bug and rode bulls. Martin loved all animals. He enjoyed spending time with his horses and riding in the mountains. Martin was the life of the party and loved to entertain everyone and did so up until his last days here with us. "Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky, and live like you ain't afraid to die" We love you Martin.

Our family would like to acknowledge and send a special thank you to Heather and Melissa for all love given to Martin over the years. We are deeply grateful for the support, compassion, and kindness shown to our family and Martin by the staff at Portneuf Medical Center during this difficult time. We deeply appreciate your kind expression of sympathy in our time of great sorrow. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

The family will hold a Celebration of life to be announced when weather permits.
