Martin Derou Auck

Martin Derou Auck, Derou Auck, 43, of Fort Hall, was called home by the Creator on July 13, 2012. Derou was born on June 23, 1969 in Oakland, California, to Edrick Auck Sr. and Carol Sanchez Auck Thompson. He was a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. He was raised in Fort Hall and attended Highland High School and Chemawa Indian Boarding School in Salem, Oregon. He was an outstanding athlete, playing football, basketball and other sports. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer while attending school in Salem. In February 1991 he married Lori Rudine Pahvitse, together they had two children, Marquis Onda and Sequoia Ta-Tazeyump and raised three other sons, Lorenzo, Michael and Wakeen. He enjoyed traveling, attending sporting events and socializing with his friends and family. In 2002, he moved with his family to Kernville, California where they resided for many years. He was a skilled laborer working out of Bakersfield. He later returned to Fort Hall where he resided until the time of his passing. He was a member of the Native American Church. He was a member of the local Ironworkers Union #732, Past employment was with FMC, Ironworkers Union, and currently was a supervisor at Wadda Farms. Derou is survived by his wife Lori, son Marquis, daughter Sequoia and step-son Lorenzo Pahvitse-Rodriguez all of Clovis, California, and step-sons Michael and Wakeen Pahvitse of Fort Hall, his father Edrick Auck Sr., step-mother Nadine Auck, and brothers Edrick Auck Jr., Kevin Callahan, Aaron (Michaelynn Auck) Erick Auck, sister Carmen Cutler, and many cousins and relatives from the Fort Hall area and in California. Derou was preceded in death by his mother Carol Sanchez Thompson, brother Dedrick Auck, brothers Desmond and Wade Weiser, grandparents Louis and, Mary Phelps Auck, maternal grandmother Lorraine Weiser aunties Rosie and Lucinda Auck, Becky Weiser. Cousins Tom Menta, Oma Menta-Dixey His body will be taken to Edrick Auck Sr's. residence on East Simplot Road beginning Sunday, July 15th at 10:00 a.m. until Tuesday, July 17th at 1:30 p.m. when he'll be taken to the Sand Hill Cemetery for traditional burial services.
