Martha May Nelson Jackson, 29 and holding ... was born on August 27, 1934 and passed away August 16, 2012 due to complications from pneumonia. Martha left this world on August 16th, the same day that her idol Elvis Presley departed.
Martha lived in Pocatello Idaho all her life including moving with her parents and six brothers and sisters onto Poplar Street in the winter of 1948 to live in a tent. The following spring a home was built by family and friends and this remained her childhood home until she married. Martha was the oldest daughter in the family of eight children born to Clyde Francis Nelson and Mildred Esther Cornwall.

Martha's interests included painting, crocheting, gardening, slot machines, pinochle, camping, hunting and enjoying the outdoors with her family. Martha worked at Lamb Weston for over 30 years and retired in 2001.

Martha lived on Hurley Drive in Pocatello for many years where wonderful memories were made. Birthdays, holidays, weekends and especially the 4th of July were celebrated with much love and excitement by the whole family, and friends, and their friends, and their friend's friends and their friends…everyone was always welcome. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Doctors Solbrig and Barker, and all the caring nurses and staff at Portneuf Medical Center, Portneuf Care and Rehabilitation staff, and Access Hospice for not only caring for our mom, but the entire family as well. Special thanks to Emeritus at Ridgewind and Ashley Manor Care Center for the loving care given to this special lady. Sandy, Lorrie and Barbara want to say a very special thank you to our very special aunts Lois Rawson and Sandy Jensen who spend so much of their time with our mom when she was unable to care for herself.

Even after Alzheimer's disease had taken away her memory and most of her speech, she was still able to tell everyone "I LOVE YOU," and she did. What a wonderful legacy to leave.
