Martha L. Amodie

MOUNTAIN HOME, ID - Martha Louise Amodie, 83, passed away peacefully January 16, 2019 at her home with her husband at her side.

Martha was born on September 22, 1935 in Marshall, Illinois to Virgil and Lucille (Wilson) English. She was raised and educated in Marshall and continued to reside there until she moved west about 30 years ago. It was in California that she met and fell in love with John E. Amodie. They were married at the POW/MIA Rally held in Pocatello in 2008. They had some great adventures!

Martha loved Christmas, she loved to garden, she enjoyed going for walks, she loved her dog Buffy, but most importantly she loved John unconditionally!!

Martha is survived by her husband, John Amodie of Mountain Home, ID; daughter, Debbie English of Albion, IL; daughter, Marilyn Joyce (Duke) Kindred of Paris, IL; daughter, Tammy (Mark) Pittenger of Marshall, IL; son, Ed (Patty) Miller of Marshall, IL; son, Jerry (Tracie) Miller of Martinsville, IL; brother, Harry J. (Virginia) English of Marshall, IL; brother, Ron (Norma) English of Albion, IL; grandchildren, Craig (Misty) Crunk; Tiffany Hale; Kacie Miller; Korie Miller; Justine (Riley) Bogue; Audrey (Dana) Kilmer; and great-grandchildren, Kelsy Crunk; Damon Swyear; Jessalyn Hale; Luken Bogue; Lanie Bogue; Adda Lyne Kilmer; and Brittyn Kilmer.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold Dean Wilson; David Marion English; and her nephew, Troy Lee English.
John wishes to express his gratitude to the family and friends who have supported them throughout this whole ordeal, Abode Hospice for their care, and especially Amanda Wilson for her love and attention to he and Martha.

Graveside services will be held for Martha at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery – Boise.
