Marsha Rose Eastvold

September 27, 1944 — April 24, 2019

Marsha Rose Eastvold, 74, of Pocatello passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at home, surrounded by family, after a long battle of cancer. She was born on September 27, 1944, to Edna Cora and Robert Lee Getty, in Pocatello, Idaho. Marsha was born and raised in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School. She married Rodney John Eastvold on August 13, 1963, at Grace Lutheran Church in Pocatello. To their union, they were blessed with four children, Dori, Troy, Trent and Dana. They made their home in Pocatello where Rodney worked for Union Pacific Railroad, and Marsha worked at Lamb Weston and Holiday Inn until she became pregnant with their first child, and then she was a stay-at-home mom. When Rodney retired, they moved to Island Park where they spent many years enjoying retirement. Rodney became ill suddenly and died on August 8, 2009. Marsha loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them. She was a great outdoors enthusiast and loved camping, fishing, hunting and doing crafts. One of her greatest achievements was shooting a moose in Island Park. She also loved to go dancing on Friday nights with her companion, Doug. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Eastvold; and her parents, Robert and Edna Getty. She is survived by her four children, Dori Hawkins, Pocatello; Troy (Vicki) Eastvold, Pocatello; Trenton (Kelli) Eastvold, Blackfoot; Dana (Brad) Fairchild, Battle Ground, Washington; her three sisters, Sandy (Dick) McElveen, Pocatello; Paula Armstrong, Pocatello; and Bobette (Mike) Eastvold, Pocatello; her loving companion, Doug Green, Pocatello; eight grandchildren; and three and a half great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Heritage Hospice, Angela and Patty, for their care over the last year. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 1350 Baldy Avenue, Pocatello, ID. The family will meet with friends and family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where she will be buried next to her husband, Rodney.
