Marlene Piggott Stock passed away peacefully while watching her favorite pass-time, Sports, on March 20, 2025.
Marlene was born May 1, 1938, in Bloomington, Idaho to Thomas Taylor and LaRue Piggott. She spent her school years in the Bear Lake School district, graduating from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho 1956. Marlene attended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah receiving an associates degree. Using her degree, she went to work as a secretary for Idaho Bank and Trust in Blackfoot Idaho. After moving back to Pocatello, Idaho in 1965, she went to work for Associated Foods as a secretary and a clerk for UPRR.
Marlene married Wayne Owen Stock in the Logan LDS Temple, Logan Utah on September 12, 1958, they were blessed with two children, a daughter, Tracy and a son, Kyle. They spent 56 exciting years together before Wayne passed away from complications from skin cancer. Many years of outdoor activities with friends and family filled their days. They loved to camp, water and snow ski, snowmobile and just have fun enjoying a Diet coke with Friends.
Marlene’s hobbies included anything related to sports. She was especially fond of basketball and football along with any sports or activities her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved with. She was always heard vocally supporting them.
She also enjoyed doing anything with her hands, quilting, felting wool, knitting, ceramics and hand embroidery. She will be most remembered for spending her adult life as a pianist, organist, and accompanist for many special numbers. She was also a very gracious host to many families and friends.
Marlene was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in many compacities throughout her life. She enjoyed serving an 18- month church mission with Wayne to the Philippines.
Throughout her life, Marlene has made and kept in touch with many friends, which has been a huge blessing in her life.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband; Wayne Owen Stock, her parents,
Thomas Taylor and LaRue Piggott, and three of her brothers; Larry, Charles, and Stephen.
She is survived by her children, Tracy (Dane) Bohman of Rexburg ID and Kyle (Jennifer) Stock of Chubbuck ID., her three sisters; Susan (Michael) Beck of Bountiful Utah, Elaine (Dan) Porter of Bloomington, ID and Colleen (Jay) Johnson of Alberta Canada, and two brothers; Mark (Cindy) Piggott of Bloomington, ID and Reed (Dawnette) of Bloomington ID. At the time of her death, she had 9 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, March 28, at Fish Haven Cemetery, Fish Haven Ln, Fish Haven, Idaho 83287. Family will visit with friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Thursday, March 27, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, Idaho 83202.
