Marlene Green was born to Richard and Martha Tarbet Green on January 5, 1938 and passed on October 20, 2018. The year she was born her parents bought the house that the family resided in on North Johnson. She has two siblings; brother Richard Doug Green and sister Debbie Green. Marlene attended Jefferson grade school, Irving Junior High and Pocatello High graduating in 1956. She was married 4 times; William Marley, Don M Hatt, Gerald Garrard and Terry Jacobsen. Marlene worked at Polar Bear Drive Inn, Elevator operator at the Spaulding Building, Pocatello Drug Store, Princess Dress Shop and Halliwell Drug Store. She worked for FMC for many years at the age of 55 she retired. After retiring she starting volunteering at PRMC when it became a full service hospital. Marlene and Ruth Daniel started knitting hats for the newborns at the hospital. They knitted hundreds of hats. She was the secretary of Guild at PRMC and secretary at Bannock Auxiliary. She also served as President of both PRMC and Bannock. Marlene belonged to the BPO Does for 30 years. She served as President and secretary many years. At 75 Marlene went back to work being Secretary for the Southeast Idaho Senior Games and learned a lot about different sports. She had to stop working when her eye sight started failing. After 50 years Marlene became active in the LDS Church and her Aunt Blanch took the instructions and went to the Temple. Marlene had special relationships with many people, her nephews Rusty Green, Jim Thompson, Jason Thompson, nieces Jeanie and Gloria Bell, Blake Hollingsworth, Morgan and Robin Kent, Yvonne Cardona and the Green and Tarbet families. Marlene is preceded in death by her mother and father; niece Gloria Bell Johnston; and great nephew Dillion Green; and her dogs, which were her greatest loves. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11 am at the LDS Pocatello Stake Building, 655 S. Grant Ave. Pocatello, with a viewing for one hour prior. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
