Marlene Anderson, 78, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, in Auburn, California. E. Marlene was born May 8, 1935, in Rexburg, Idaho, as the first of nine children of Howard Sortor and Ruby Madsen Sortor. She attended Pocatello High School. Marlene married LaMont Anderson on September 25, 1952 in Pocatello, Idaho. Together, they had two children, Randy and John. Marlene was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she held various callings in the Relieve Society and Primary programs. Marlene loved life. Her many hobbies included cooking, baking, crocheting, embroidery, and bowling. She especially loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was a very active person, despite her two heart surgeries and other medical complications. Marlene Anderson is survived by her husband, LaMont "Andy" Anderson, sons, Randy (Tami) Anderson and John Anderson, sisters, Wanda Bock, Beverly Hansen (Ray), Judy Gilles, Sandra Tarbet (Dave), Colleen Van Leuven (Mike), brothers, La Verl and Richard Sortor, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, and 2 brothers. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M Saturday, August 31, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
