John "Mark" McCollum, 50, passed away on January 23, 2015. He was born in Pocatello on January 31, 1964 to Benjamin and Ruth McCollum. Mark Graduated from Pocatello High School, attended Boise State, graduated from Idaho State University with a B.A. in Business, and earned his graduate degree from Pacific Coast Banking School. He married Rebecca "Becky" Burnham on October 25, 1992. Mark took pride in the fact that he had worked since he was eight years old. He worked at Riverside Golf Course clear through college. After graduation, he worked for Ireland Bank, and then worked at Simplot and the Simplot Credit Union. But work was not Marks only passion. Anyone who knew him well could tell you that building his cabin up on "the Yankee Fork" was his pride and joy. He and his family would spend most weekends throughout the year building the cabin and enjoying the seclusion. The summer months were always filled with building projects, four-wheeling, hiking, and floating the river. Mark also loved to go wood cutting every fall and enjoy the hard-earned crackle of the fire place. During the winter, they would snowshoe up the mountain and spend the weekend sledding, building snow forts, and driving around in the "Argo" ATV. Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth. He is survived by his father, Ben; wife, Rebecca "Becky" (Burnham) McCollum; brothers, Donald McCollum and Lee (Mary Kay) McCollum; Children, Jessica (Josh) Bartausky, Rachel (Wil) Loyd, and Adam McCollum; grandchildren, Sage and Jayda Bartausky; and his nieces and nephews.
