Mark Anthony Garcia was born in Salt Lake City on July 5, 1991, and from the beginning he was a miracle child. At 9 months Mark had a heart transplant and we were blessed to have 23 years with him. He was raised here in Pocatello where his family eventually opened up a family restaurant that Mark often told others he "owned." For schooling he attended Hawthorne Jr High and Highland High School. He was into Boxing and was a member of the Gate City and Rodriquez Boxing Clubs. Gate City Christian Church was where he found Christ and he loved attending and serving others.
Mark was a loving young man that was full of energy and never short on hugs to share. He was passionate about his faith in Christ and he was never shy with sharing truth with people. Aside from his faith his greatest interest was his family. He loved being at home and getting the entire family together. Anyone who was a friend of Mark instantly became family and was invited into his home. He loved teasing his sisters and joking around with anyone he could. Those who know Mark know "love and joy" defined the man he was and the way he lived his life. We know that Mark is now home with Jesus but his energy and enthusiasm of his Spirit will never be far from us as we continue to honor his belief in Christ and desire to make family a priority.
He is survived by Nicolas (father), Rosalinda (mother), Amanda (sister), Jesse (brother-in-law), Saydie (little sis), and a huge extended family that loved him and will be impacted by his life for years to come. We are thankful for the years God gave us with Mark and are looking forward to getting the family together again heaven.
In honor of Mark, we encourage everyone to wear to his services his favorite color red.
