Marjorie Smith

d. January 4, 2010

Marjorie Ellen Smith died peacefully, in her home of fifty years, this January 4, 2010. Marjorie started her life in Oakland California September 9, 1923. She was the eldest of three daughters born to Douglas and Ellen Donaldson. In 1924, just a year later, she move to Pocatello, Idaho where her father helped open the Kraft Plant. As she grew she became a beautiful woman with a strong will and an adventurous side. Nothing ever stopped her from accomplishing her dreams. In fact, very little slowed her down; she was like a force of nature. She found her other half in the eyes of a man name Melvin Smith, and knew he was her true love. Mel was a tall dark and handsome man, who could build or fix anything. He was also something of a practical joker. So when he suggested that they marry on April 1st, Marjorie laughed and then quickly proposed a different date for their wedding. The two were married on April 2, 1942. Just six short weeks after they were married, Mel was drafted into World War II. Marjorie
