Marjorie Virginia Nelson Ruchti, 87, longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010 at the Pocatello Care and Rehab Center in Pocatello, ID. She was born Sept. 24, 1922 in Pocatello, a daughter of Ace Rich Nelson and Virginia Laasko Nelson. She received her schooling in Pocatello. On September 29, 1939 she married the love of her life, Jack N. Ruchti in Pocatello. She worked for the Pocatello School Dist. for 20 years in the cafeterias of Irving Jr. High and Pocatello High School. Before she retired she and Jack spent many wonderful summers at their place in Island Park. After retirement they lived in Island Park and spent some of the winters in Arizona and Florence Oregon. She loved horseback riding, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, playing cards and dancing. She taught line dancing for many years. She loved living at Cottonwood Cove and going to the Senior Citizens Center with her special friend, Ross Rosales, who the family gives special thanks to for being so good to her. She loved life and spending time with her family. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church. Survivors include: three sons, Gary (Karen) Ruchti; David (Janet) Ruchti, all of Pocatello; Steven (Jean) Ruchti, Omaha, Nebraska. One daughter, DeeAnn (Robert) Tuckett, Pocatello; 12 grand children and 20 great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her only brother, an infant son, and a grandson. A Graveside Memorial Service is scheduled for Sept. 25,2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery. At her request she has been cremated. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Senior Citizens Center, 427 North 6th Ave, Pocatello, Idaho 83201.
