Marion Gene Swallow peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, his 74 th birthday. He was born June 25, 1940, in Fillmore, Utah, to Alfred Eugene and Twyla Johnson Swallow. He married Edna Norton in the Idaho Falls temple on June 19, 1959. Marion graduated from Pocatello High School in 1958. He and Edna were high school sweethearts. They are the parents of six children. He worked hard to provide for his family and retired in 2002. He was an active member of the LDS church. He held many positions including Bishop, High Priest Group Leader, High Counselor, and Executive Secretary. He and his wife were called on a Family Service Mission in Pocatello from October 2009 to 2011. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, fishing, camping, road trips with his family, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Next to his family, his yard was his pride and joy. Survivors include his wife, Edna, of 55 years; three sons, Jeffrey, Troy (Tammy) of Pocatello, and Brady (Angie) of Buhl; three daughters, Mrs. Larin (Sherrie) Channell, Orem, Utah, Mrs. Jason (Deana) Hege, and Mrs. Jason (Tara) Teuscher, both of Pocatello; two sisters, Gloria Dahlstrom, and Maurine Broadhead, Pocatello; two brothers, Larry and Aldean Swallow, Pocatello; and 22 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at the Highland LDS Stake Center, 2140 Satterfield Dr. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 am with Bishop Steven Long officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. 208-233-1500, and from 10 am until service time at the church on Monday. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Condolences can be made to the family online at www.colonial-funeralhome.com
