Marion E. Meader

December 14, 1920 — May 14, 2016

In loving memory of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, who passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2016 in Pocatello, Idaho.

Marion was born in Forest Lake, Minnesota on December 14, 1920, to George and Regina (Rena) Landgraver. Marion attended school in Forest Lake and married Carl Johnson in 1940 in White Cloud, Minnesota. Marion and Carl moved to Pocatello in 1948. They had two boys, Gary & Greg before they divorced.

Marion married Phillip Meader in 1950 and they raised three more sons. She worked at Rhoads Salvage for 26 years and also helped run the Meader Trout Farm in Pocatello. Phil also owned and operated Pocatello Construction. They later divorced in 1969 and Marion has lived in Portland, Oregon, Lake Havasu City, Arizona and finally returned back home to Pocatello.

Marion was known for her quick wit and her unconditional, unlimited love and support of her family. She would spend her time grocery shopping, looking for sales on things she could turn into meals and baked goods for everyone that came by to see her. She was never alone as the phone never stopped ringing and there was always someone at her door stopping in to visit. She was always fortunate to be surrounded by loving caring people.

Marion is survived by her sons, Greg (Linda) of Boise, Idaho, Kevin (Carla) of Portland, Oregon; granddaughters Misti and Brandi (Derrick); great-granddaughters Justine, Ciarra and Hunter; great-grandsons Kaison, Tyrel and Chance; and great-great-granddaughters Aubree and Makayla. She is also survived by her sisters Audrey, Rita and Diane (Sis). Marion was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marietta and Helen, brothers George (Sonny), Wallace and Gordon (Gordy) and three of her precious sons Gary, Barry and Francis, and her only grandson, Brian Meader.

A memorial service will be held at a later date when all the family can come together to celebrate GG's long life as a member of the greatest generation. Oh what she saw, experienced, lived through her 95 years of life. She will be greatly missed…until we meet again. Memories and condolences may be posted in the "Share a Memory" tab on this page.
