Blanche Marie Pratt Hegland, 80, passed away peacefully with family by her side, January 5, 2025. Marie was born in Tooele, Utah to Ed S Pratt and Ada Neal Pratt on December 4, 1944. She was the oldest living child and was followed by 3 sisters. Marie grew up in Snowville, Utah where her dad ran a grocery store. She shared many fond memories of people and places in Snowville. When she was 16, her family moved to Ogden, Utah and she graduated from Ben Lomond High School. After high school she attended Stevens Henager Business School where she met her first husband, Vernon Ronley Jones. They were married November 27, 1963. To this union were born 2 children, Ronda Robbins and Jason Jones. The family lived in Sugar City, Rexburg, and Malad, Idaho. When this marriage ended Marie moved to Boise to be closer to her parents and siblings. Marie met and married Norman Earl Hegland in May of 1983 and they built a life in the Boise area with moves to Emmett and Cascade, Idaho, Fielding, Utah, Preston, Idaho and eventually landing in Pocatello to be closer to grandchildren.
Marie spent many years providing customer service through her banking and retail professions and shared her incredible musical talents both vocal and piano with each community she inhabited. She was known for being able to take any piece of music and make it her own with her unique feel for notes. She loved to tell a great story, and her quick wit was a source of humor and laughter. Her interior design and craft skills were amazing, and her home was filled with her talented abilities to decorate and create. Traveling, shopping and having adventures were among her favorite activities. Marie was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served throughout her life in various auxiliaries.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Ronda Robbins and spouse Edward Robbins, her son, Jason Jones, and bonus children, Michael Hegland, Rob Cook, Eric Cook and Lisa Quenzer. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jordan Scow, Candice and Taylor Dursteler, Carson and Jenny Robbins, Cordell and Madi Robbins, and Camille and Jackson Roberts. She loved and adored her 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sweet baby sister, Annie Hamrick and husband Brian Hamrick, brother-in-law, Joe Cheney and wife Diane Cheney and many dear nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her many friends made at Elegant Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Noel Pratt, and sisters Jean Mussulman and Eileen Cheney.
Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Wilks Funeral Home in Chubbuck, Idaho at 2:00 p.m. There will be a viewing held from 1:00 to 1:45.
Interment will be held later in order to lay her at rest with her sweetheart, Heggie Husband, in Boise, Idaho.
