Gladys “Marian” Dahlquist was born to Bonita and Ernest Dahlquist on June 1, 1963, in Pocatello, Idaho.
Marian attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School, Alameda Junior High and ultimately graduated from Highland High School.
Growing up in a Christian environment was important to her family. Marian was a member of the Catholic Church.
When Marian was in High School, she met Larry Romriell from Arimo, Idaho at a high school welcoming dance, and they later married on January 26, 1980. Together, they had two children, Brandon and Christina. Marian and Larry later divorced in 1991.
On January 10, 1992, Marian married John D. Anderson from Pocatello. Together, they continued raising Brandon and Christina. They later divorced in March 1999.
Marian was employed with the Pocatello Childrens and Adolescent Clinic for several years as a receptionist where she was revered by the doctors and other colleagues. She was the “welcoming” face of the clinic, where she greeted hundreds of moms and dads as they entered the clinic. Marian greeted them with a warm and friendly smile, attended to their many needs, and put them at ease.
Camping in the summer and skiing in the winter or talking about her childhood memories were some of her favorite pastimes. She had fond memories of growing up with her large family and getting together with all her Wyoming cousins.
With a contagious laughter, Marian could make anyone laugh at any given time, and her laughter and joyful attitude will be missed.
Marian is survived by her mother Bonnie Dahlquist, son Brandon (Amanda) Romriell, daughter Christina Miller, four grandchildren: McKean Romriell, McKandyn Romriell, Ayden Miller, and Caysyn Miller; siblings Anna (Val) Anderson, Teresa (Bruce) Chisholm, Debbie (Bruce) Hanson, Mike (Brittney) Dahlquist, and Mark (Sheila) Dahlquist; and several nieces and nephews.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her granddaughter Mckinzee Romriell, father Ernest Dahlquist, grandparents Marian and Norbert Bindl, William Irving, and Gladys Dahlquist, along with her older brother Peter Joseph Dahlquist.
A visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 439 N. Hayes Avenue, Pocatello, with a Memorial Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
