Margie Rose Nelson

Margie R. (Lanch) Nelson, 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her home in Pocatello, ID. She was born on September 15, 1928 in Butte, Montana to Jack and Mary Lanch. In her late teens, Margie moved to Pocatello to live with her older sister and soon met Joseph Nelson, brother to her sisters husband, and they married in 1946. Margie and Joe had four children, Lonnie, Rod, Grant, and Linda. Margie spent the early years of marriage as a stay-at-home mom, but when the kids were all finally in school, she decided to utilize her talent around the kitchen and began 40+ years in the food service industry. She applied her skills in many well-known cafes and restaurants around Pocatello and worked in the cafeterias at all three high schools. She eventually retired from Farmers Insurance where her cinnamon rolls were always in high demand. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph and son, Grant. She was blessed with many grandchildren, and many, many great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank her Encompass team: Marcia, Shatay, Makenna, Kristen, Annique, Stephanie, and Joyce, also her daughter, Linda, and granddaughter, Ciji. A private graveside for Margie will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Treasureton Cemetery in Treasureton, Idaho.
