Margaret U. Thompson, 76, passed away surrounded by her family at a local hospital, Saturday, January 11, 2014. Margaret was born April 14, 1937 in Malad, Idaho to Cleve and Ireta Moon.
In her youth Margaret attended schools in Malad, Springfield and Blackfoot, Idaho.
On August 29, 1953, she married her best friend, Duane F. Thompson. They were married for 55 years until Duane's death in 2010.They lived their married life in Fort Hall, Id., Portland, Or., Coulee Dam, Wa., and Pocatello, Id.

Margaret was interested in many activities and hobbies including: Pinnacle, Keno, Bingo and gambling trips to Jackpot and Mesquite, Nevada. Margaret was an avid bowler and was on many championship teams. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds which were always pretty.
Margaret worked at the nursery at Grand Central Store and also was an aide at Tyhee Elementary for 10 years. All her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were special to her and loved her very much and will miss the roaring lion cookie jar, which was always full.

Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Duane F. Thompson, infant son, Tony D. Thompson, parents, Cleve and Ireta Moon, sister, Linda Wickhorst, brother, Gary Moon and brother, Donald Moon.

She is survived by: her children, Rose (Wally) Lish of Chubbuck; Donna (Dave) Bollinger of Fort Hall; Richard (Elma) Thompson, Fort Hall; Randy (Terri) Thompson, Fort Hall; Denise Stecklein of Blackfoot; a brother, Arlin Moon, of Pocatello; 21 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Margaret will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd., Chubbuck, ID. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 and one hour prior to services on Thursday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow services on Thursday in the Springfield Cemetery.
