Marcella Kay Wilkins, “Nana” returned peacefully to her mother, father, and Heavenly Father, while surrounded by her family in the early morning of July 23, 2021 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Marcella was born in Provo, Utah on November 7, 1949 to Lafaun and Albert Fleming. She grew up in Midvale, graduated from Hillcrest High School and later from a renowned cosmetology school. In 1970 she met the love of her life, David R. Wilkins. They were sealed for time and all eternity on June 25, 1971, in the Salt Lake City temple, and had just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have five energetic children, sixteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren that were her greatest joy and legacy.
Everyone felt her love through her cooking, she was famous for her banana cream pies, potato salad, homemade chicken noodle soup, buttery rolls, and many more. There was not another person that could listen, love, and validate like our mother.
She loved working on jigsaw puzzles with her family, crocheting blankets and scarves for her kids and grandkids, camping and travel and most of all she loved fashion and shopping. Our mom always led in example of fashion and style. Her love of life was contagious, and she was truly beloved by all.
Our mother had a beautiful relationship with the Savior, she loved the gospel and served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls temple. To know her was to love her. She will be sorely missed for she was the greatest wife, mom and nana.
She is survived by her husband David R. Wilkins, Her five children Melodie (Nicholas) Wilson, Stephanie (Todd) Victor, Nathan (Jennifer) Wilkins, Thomas (Kimberlie) Wilkins, Jared (Heather) Wilkins. Grandchildren Nicole (Andy) Powlus, Kaylie (Abe) Benitez, Dominic (Loryn) Wilson, Paige, Piper, Parker Wilson, Kyle, Kendal Victor, Bear, Nora Wilkins, Merik, Ronan, Finnian Wilkins, Jordan, Karissa, Makenzie Wilkins. Great-grandchildren Navie, Wrenly Powlus, Tyler Wilson.
