Manuel Lopez Jaramillo

Manuel Lopez Jaramillo,62, passed away peacefully at his home of natural causes on Monday, December 26th 2022. Manuel was born on May 18th 1960 at the Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona to Juan and Josephine Lopez Jaramillo. He was one of 14 siblings, which included 5 sisters and 8 brothers. He spent his childhood and young adulthood in California and Arizona. During this time he took great pride in helping raise two children, Veronica and Angel Mendez. Though they were not his biological children he raised and loved them as if they were his own. Manuel spent many years traveling back and forth between Arizona and Idaho with his family to work in the fields. He later moved to Idaho to be closer to his brother Eddie Jaramillo. They were very close because all they had at the time was each other. They spent most all of their time together, working, and even starting a handyman business together. Eddie, or “Wally” as Manuel would call him, is heartbroken to now be without his best friend, best partner, and best brother. He is thankful to have a beautiful family to love and support him during this challenging time. Idaho is where Manuel met and fell in love with his soulmate, Lori Ann Sanchez. They soon were married on November 1st 1997 at Christ Church in Pocatello, Idaho. Again Manuel’s fatherly instincts kicked in as he happily helped raise Lori’s three young boys James, Pablo,and Adam. Together as a family they gave their lives to Christ and started serving the Lord. They attended Christ Church where Manuel and Lori became the leaders of a youth group they named the Divine Design. Manuel was passionate about working with the youth and leading them to Christ. He enjoyed teaching and gave many lessons of the Bible.

Manuel was a man of many talents. He worked hard in construction for many years. After that he transitioned into cabinetry, which allowed him to continue to do what he loved, working with his hands. He also enjoyed mechanic work and fixing up cars. Being the entrepreneur that he was, he started his own company in home remodeling and landscaping. This gave Manuel the opportunity to pass on his knowledge down to his three sons who worked close by his side. Some of his hobbies included model car building and collecting Hotwheels , camping, fishing, and most of all, anything involving family time. One of Manuel’s greatest joys was being a papa and grampy to his grandchildren Leveah, Adrianna, Amari, Isaiah, Carlos, and Mary. He made them, and spending time with them, a main priority in his life. Manuel had a special relationship with his daughter in law Tanielle, which she will forever cherish.

Manuel was given a second chance at life when he received a kidney and liver transplant. We will forever be grateful for having been gifted extra years with him. We will miss his smile, jokes, laughter and love. Until we see him again we will celebrate the life we shared with him. May he rest in Heaven reunited with his “Chula”.

Manuel is survived by his brothers Jesse Jaramillo, Robert Jaramillo, Guadalupe Jaramillo, and Edwardo Jaramillo, and his sisters Lucy Reyna, MeryHalen Verdugo, Margie Aguilar, and Angie Alvarez. His children Veronica Mendez, Angel Mendez, James Jimenez, Pablo Jimenez, Adam Jimenez, and Tanielle Jimenez, his grandchildren Laveah Strength, Adrianna Jimenez, Amari Jimenez, Isaiah Jimenez, Carlos Jimenez, and Mary Jimenez. And his many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Josephine Lopez Jaramillo, his beautiful wife Lori Ann Jaramillo, his brothers Juanito L. Jaramillo, Joe L. Jaramillo, David L. Jaramillo, and Silverio L. Jaramillo. And his sister Virginia Cruz.

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Church located at 1245 N. Arthur Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204 on Friday, January 6th, 2023 at 2 p.m. This service will also be live streamed on Facebook on Tanielle Jimenez, Lori Jaramillo, and Manuel Jaramillo’s Facebook pages.

Services will be followed by food and fellowship. Feel free to bring a dish if you’d like.

In lieu of flowers, the family is deeply thankful for donations towards funeral expenses.
