FORT HALL Malana Leigh Moemberg was born on November 27, 1996 to Delight Moemberg and Leland Ponzo. She passed away on December 9, 2017. Malana was raised by her grandparents in the Fort Hall area with her two brothers. She attended Fort Hall Elementary and later on moved to Seattle, Washington and attended school there with her mom and her two siblings. While there she had an avid love for the outdoors, and enjoyed going to the ocean and the parks. She loved sports, including swimming, basketball and sightseeing. In her later years she moved back to Fort Hall to be close to her grandparents. She still loved the outdoors and spending time with her family and her animals. She enjoyed having her friends around and loved spending time with them. She is survived by both of her parents; one great grandpa, Pete Rodriguez; brothers, Philip Ponzo and Lennox Ponzo; and sister, Tracee Plentywounds; along with several grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles and cousins. Malana was preceded in death by her grandfather, Tracy Moemberg; great-grandfathers, Phillip Rodriguez, Johnny Ponzo and Timothy Miller; grandmother, Laurie Ann Smith; great-grandmothers, Phoebe Ponzo Martin, Josephine Miller and Viola Rodriguez. Malanas viewing was at the Iona Blackhawk residence. Burial was on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Cemetery. Tent visitation will be held at the Iona Blackhawk residence in Fort Hall, from Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 10 am through Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2 pm where she will then be taken to The Cedars Cemetery, in Fort Hall, for burial.
