Chief Master Sergeant Lynn Ernest Hebdon passed away on March 2nd, 2025, with his family and friends by his side.
Lynn was born on February 6th, 1950, in Pullman, Washington to Ernest Hebdon and Murial Albiston. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his brother, Larry Hebdon.
He grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1968. He attended Idaho State University before receiving his draft notice in 1969 and joined the United States Air Force.
Lynn married his high school sweetheart, Jeanine Ann Warth on December 20th, 1968.
Lynn began his Air Force career on September 18th, 1969. Lynn and Jeanine traveled the world with the Air Force with their two children, living in places like Alaska, Florida, New Mexico and England.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeanine Hebdon, his daughter, Heather Hebdon, his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Terri Hebdon and grandchildren, Victoria Hebdon and William Hebdon.
Lynn joined the United States Air Force on September 18th 1969. He served until being honorably discharged on September 30th, 1997. During his time in active duty, he received the Air Force Commendation Medal with 5 devices, Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 2 devices, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with 2 devices and many more. Thank you for your service and dedication to our country, Lynn.
After retiring from the Air Force, Lynn and Jeanine returned to Pocatello where Lynn was involved with the Boy Scouts, Military Honor Guard and Good Sams. Lynn also volunteered frequently with Hospice. He became a member of New Knowledge Adventures where he led the hiking group and the Tai Chi Cha classes. Lynn and Jeanine also taught Country and Western Dance lessons for many years.
Lynn was an avid runner, hiker, cyclist and skier.
Services for Chief Master Sergeant Lynn Hebdon will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11 am at the LDS Church, 1433 Gwen Drive, Pocatello, Idaho, with a viewing one hour prior.
