Lynn Calvin Saxton, 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at a local care center. He was born on April 20, 1924, the son of Newcomb and Anna Saxton, in the Lynn Brothers Hospital in Pocatello, ID. He was raised on a farm in Rigby and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He later moved to Pocatello after the service when he met his wife, Patsy. He married Patsy Willis on August 16, 1947 in Pocatello, ID. They had three children; Lynda, Darrell and Jody. He worked for the UPRR retiring in 1985. He was also a member of the Machinist Union. He liked old cars and had belonged to the VMCCA, (Veterans Motor Car Club of America) and the Classic Car Club and Edsel Club. He liked to fish and camp. Lynn is survived by his daughters, Lynda Saxton, Jody (Sam) Purkett, both of Pocatello; sisters, Zoe Rolph, LouGene Gravatt; three grandchildren, Misty, Cory and Adam. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son; and brother, Ted Saxton. A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 10-11 am at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services, with Military Honors, will follow starting at 11 am also at Colonial. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to the Bannock Humane Society.
