Lynda JoAnne Moon passed away on June 7, 2016 from complications of ALS. She was the beloved wife of Dave Moon of Pocatello, Idaho. Lynda was born on July 16, 1954 in Ashton, Idaho. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Beatrice Blain. Lynda graduated from South Fremont High School in 1972. Following her graduation she met and married the love of her life, Dave Moon, on February 14, 1973 at the 2 nd Ward Chapel in St. Anthony, Idaho. Lynda settled in Pocatello with Dave and was an active member in Pocatellos 41 st Ward for thirty-eight years. During this time she served in many callings, such as Primary President, Relief Society Counselor, and Secretary of the Young Womens. Lynda dearly loved all of the young women with whom she came in contact and developed lasting life time relationships with many. She was also a faithful visiting teacher, and loved nothing more than talking with the ladies on her list. Lynda had a wonderful sense of humor that she would use to help lighten the day of many people. Lynda was skilled in many areas including quilting, canning, scrap booking and sewing to name a few, and she freely shared her expertise with her friends and family. She also enjoyed fishing and camping, and many times would out fish Dave, much to her delight. She was a skilled financier with family finances. Lynda was the person who would drop everything to help a friend in need. She passed on her knowledge to her children who often relied on her for directions and advice. Lynda was a master at explaining difficult procedures over the phone when her children got into projects over their heads. Lynda loved music. She was a skilled pianist who played for many events, and loved singing with her ward choir, daughters and granddaughters. Lynda is survived by her husband, Dave Moon; five children, Tammy (Adin) Clark of Seattle, Washington, Stephanie (Jorge) Baretto, Kristy (Andres) Baretto both of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Scott (Teresa) Moon and Ryan (McKenzie) Moon both of Ogden, Utah; twenty grandchildren; her mother, Beatrice Blain; her sister, Evelyn (Micah) Strange both of St. Anthony, Idaho; and her brother, David (Dixie) Blain of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her father Archie Blain; and her brother, Jonathan Blain. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the LDS church located at 1700 Kinghorn Rd. Pocatello, ID 83202. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11 am also at the Kinghorn church, with a viewing for one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Pine View Cemetery in Ashton, Idaho.
