Lyle was born the 6th child of John and Belva Lewis of Ainsworth Nebraska.
He met and Married Marsha Amick at age 18 and they had 4 children.
They spent the first part of their life Ranching then drilling water wells in North Central Nebraska.
In 1974 He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and shortly felt a calling to preach, within a year he was pastoring a small Baptist church and attending Bible College while working to support his family. Over the next several years He pastored two churches in Nebraska and in 1983 felt he was called to the west.
He made a couple trips to Wyoming and Idaho before finding Montpelier Idaho a small town in South east Idaho that had, at that time, no protestant Church. He then sold his house and business to move his wife and 3 of his children to the place he would build a new life serving the Lord as he believed. Over the next 35 years He trained horses and raised mules as a way to support himself and he truly enjoyed his life. However the true Joy in his life was to see how the ministry here affected the people, from the radio ministry that broadcast every day for several years to the one on one. The last 10 years he had increased his ministry to include a prison ministry starting in Soda springs and expanding to Pocatello. He had a true burden to try to see people turn their hearts to God and to accept the Lord as their Savior. Heaven is a better place and he will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Marsha Lewis of Bennington Idaho, 4 children, Lonny(Jerry Evens) of Ainsworth, Ellie(Don Scott) of Advance Mo, John(Malissa) Lewis of Georgetown ID and Lesa(Don James) of Advance Mo, 14 Grand Children, 24 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Father, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 grandson.
