Lucinda Rudolph

January 20, 1962 — August 4, 2019

Lucinda Marie Rudolph, age 57 passed away on August 4th 2019 at her home in Pocatello Idaho, surrounded by her loving family, bringing her valiant fight against cancer to a close.

Lucinda, although born in Pocatello Idaho, in her adolescent years, age 2-9, was raised by her maternal grandmother. At age 9 she went to live with her mother, Tretha Robinson and father Jimmy Robinson. Thus began her life as an Army brat. Lucinda lived in all except 2 of the 50 states (Alaska and Hawaii) leading to a lifelong yearning to learn as much as she could.

As she neared graduation for high school, her family returned to Idaho where she graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello, Idaho in1979. While she was in Pocatello she met and fell in love with her future husband Kevin Rudolph, getting married February 14th, 1980 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Lucinda and Kevin had lots of adventures together, one of which was learning scuba diving. A short time after getting married, they moved to Seattle, Washington so Kevin could attend the Divers Institute of Technology, falling in love with Washington for the first time. After graduating, they decided to move from Washington and they spent a few years living in Texas and Louisiana, during which time Kevin did commercial diving. Lucinda did odd jobs to support her husband while he was in school and working. Then they again moved back to Idaho where they had their first 2 children Konan and Amber. They stayed in Idaho for a short time, and then moving to Washington State for another adventure/job. While living in Washington State, they had 2 more children, Morgan and Tallon. Lucinda loved the greenery and magnificence of the Cascade Mountains.

They lived happily in multiple locations throughout the Pacific Northwest for 22 years. In 2004 Lucinda and Kevin adopted a baby girl J'leah, bringing the family to 7 in total. During those 22 years she raised 5 kids while taking on multiple jobs, owning her own business and learning to be as self-sufficient as possible and passing that knowledge to her children.

Lucinda loved animals, constantly surrounding herself and family with animals, teaching her children how to love and respect animals as part of nature, as well as helping to recognize their stewardship over them. She had a business that was called B 4 Boxers where she raised European Boxers as service animals and pets. Many called it her passion and purpose. For 32 amazing years she brought joy to the hearts of many families all over the world.

In 2009 the Rudolph family moved back to Idaho, happily living in Pocatello. In 2014, she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Due to being so ill from treatments, she sold and gave away the last of her dogs to good homes. Eventually, her cancer went into remission for a while. In early 2015 she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Lucinda went all her life thinking that she was an only child, however 2 years ago in 2017 she discovered that she had a little brother Steve Rice. She enjoyed getting to know her brother over the last 2 years.

Some of Lucinda's favorite things to do were spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved reading, fishing, sailing, homesteading and doing art projects alone and with her daughter J'leah.

Lucinda is a member of good standing of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She converted at age 16 and held many callings throughout her life. She loved being with the youth programs that her children participated in.
