Lucille Ruth Stevens, 89, passed peacefully on January 20, 2017 surrounded by her family. Lucille was born January 1, 1927 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Earnest and Ruth Dutton. As a young woman in Salmon, Idaho she cared for her family members and later raised her siblings as her own. In 1948 she married the love of her life, Donald Stevens. Lucille and Don continued to care for loved ones as they created their life together and built several beautiful homes in Pocatello, Idaho. Life in Pocatello was highlighted each and every day with the presence of beloved friends and family. They shared their life together with camping and fishing trips, a flourishing garden, card games, bowling, and unforgettable family dinners. Lucille prided herself in creating delicious meals, preserving food, and baking treats to share with all. She continued to care for family and friends throughout her life and touched all immensely, especially her grandchildren that relied on her in so many ways. Survivors include her husband, Donald Stevens, brother, Vern Dutton; children, Ann (Dan) Staples, Brad (Barbara) Stevens; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Ruth Dutton; her siblings, Lloyd Dutton, Dale Dutton, Gerald Dutton, and Dortha Montgomery. Services will be held on Friday January 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho. Family will receive friends at a gathering one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will then take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
