November 5, 1940 to October 24, 2017 Our sweet, dear, mother and grandmother, Lourna Deane Briscoe, Rhoades, Tyler, Hartley, 76, passed away suddenly from an extended illness. Lourna was born in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the 2 nd child of 8 children born to Thelma Florence Cheney Briscoe and George Peter Briscoe. She attended schools in Pocatello, ID, Las Vegas, NV, and Rexburg ID, where she graduated from Madison High School. Lourna went to Nursing School in Bountiful, UT. She later moved back to Pocatello where she met and married (Willie) Wilfred LeRoy Rhoades Sr. and they had 3 daughters together; Melodie, Karla and Rosalie and she adopted Wilfreds son, Willie Jr. Lourna and Wilfred lived their lives in Pocatello and the Tyhee area. They later divorced. She met and married John M. Tyler and they loved to travel and enjoyed nature. They were together until his death. Lourna went to the Senior Center and attended the dances. That is where she met Neal Hartley and they later married. She lived in Rockland and Pocatello until Neals death. Lourna lived the remainder of her life in Pocatello, ID. Lourna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held several positions during her life. She loved the gospel and her association with the members but most of all she loved her Savior and Heavenly Father. Lourna was a member of DUP (Daughters of Utah Pioneers) for many years, where she had at one time or another held all offices. She loved her association with her fellow daughters and learning about their ancestors. She loved art and was a prolific painter. She shared her gifts with everyone around her. Lourna loved dancing since her childhood. She was an avid dancer all her life and went to as many dances as her health would permit. She loved being around her children and grandchildren. She even claimed a few that where not hers. Lourna was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Willie Jr.; and grandson, Dale R. Rhoades. She is survived by three daughters, Melodie (Oscar) Tracy, Chubbuck, ID, Karla (Anthony) Myers, ID, Rosalie (M. Dee) Wheeler, Basalt, ID; seven siblings, Opal Briscoe, Pahrump, NV, Donna Alexander, Georgia Jensen, Larry Briscoe, Glen (Elda) Briscoe, LeRoy Briscoe, Scenic, AZ, and Laly Young, Jerico Springs, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Nichole (Mike) Maglio, Ashly (David) Johnson, Britney (Levi) Breen, Brandie (Jesse) Breen, Haily (Jordan) Heer, Steven (Jackie) Loosle, Jared (Alexandria) Wise, Sean Loosle, Alicia (Morgan) Maxwell, David Tracy, Doriann (Rusty) Coon, Melissa (Wade) Stecklein, Brady (Jennifer) Oaks, David Thomas; and thirty eight great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11 am at the LDS Poole St. Chapel, 550 W. Cedar St. Pocatello, ID, with a viewing for one hour prior. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery in Idaho Falls, ID.
