MERIDIAN, IDAHO-Louise Wilde Johns, 97, returned to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Louise was born June 21, 1915 in Carey, Idaho. A young widow, Betsey Stewart, and a widower, Emanuel Wilde, combined their families and had children together. Louise was the eleventh of thirteen children. In 1933 Louise played on the Girls State Basketball Championship team from Carey High School. She graduated that same year from Carey High School. On November 4, 1933 Louise married Carl Johns in the LDS church in Twin Falls, ID. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were parents of five children. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She especially enjoyed singing in the church choirs. Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children; Pat (Ken) Spahr of Boise, ID, Ben (Kay) Johns of Pocatello, ID, Lola (Ken) Riley of Elko, NV; daughters-in-law, Merlene Johns of Morgan, Utah, Martha Johns of Orem, Utah and sister, Agness Hess of American Falls, ID. Louise is also survived by 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, William C. and Sidney M. Johns and two grandsons. The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home located at 2005 S. 4th Avenue from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, July 19, 2012. A brief memorial service will follow. Burial will be held the next day, Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Lava Cemetery, Lava Hot Springs, ID.
