Loretta Newbold

Loretta Newbold, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 2, 2023. She was born in Los Angeles on November 28, 1938, to Luella and Paul Rees. At the age of 13, her family moved to Pocatello.

In 1955, she met Paul Newbold and they were married on October 15, 1955. They were just three months shy of being married for 60 years when Paul passed away.

Loretta loved to go to garage sales and collect antiques. She loved to crochet and loved buying yarn.

Loretta loved family time and she absolutely adored all of her grandkids.

She was a huge fan of Patrick Mahomes.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, Diana Barrus (Gordon Murray); her son, Paul Newbold, Jr.; grandson, Bo Barrus and his children Hailey, Easton, Maddie and Allie as well as their mother Jodi Turner; grandson, Chris (Erica) Barrus and their son, Marcus; granddaughter, Nicole (Brandon) Shupe and their son, Emmett, due in June; grandson, Alex (Dally) Newbold and their daughter, Challis; granddaughter, Kristin Newbold (Dennis Reinhart) and their children, Apollo, Makaylin, Kennedy and Madi; grandson, Ben Newbold and his son, Kaeden; brother, Perry Paul Rees (Connie); sisters, Peggy Spraker of Ridgecrest, California, Linda Garrett and Rosanna Holmquist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; two sisters, Frances Skinner and Rosie Honeycutt; and son-in-law Golden (Bo) Barrus.

The family would like to thank Symbii Hospice Group and also Wilks for taking amazing care of our mother and grandmother.

Services will be held at Wilks Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Gathering will begin at 4:00 pm with a Celebration of Life beginning at 5:00 pm, followed by a reception.
