Lon William Herbst

POCATELLO-Lon William Herbst, 60, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at his home.
Lon was born February 1, 1950 to E. Randall and Margie Ireton Herbst in Blackfoot, Idaho.
He attended Groveland Elementary, Blackfoot Jr. High, and graduated from Blackfoot High School.
Lon joined the army in 1969 and served active duty in SE Asia. While serving in the military he received several awards.
Lon married Kristina Alleen Jenkins on January 18, 1982 and they were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple.
Lon loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews. He also loved to spend time in the outdoors hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and camping. He was also an active member of the American Legion in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Lon is survived by sisters; Tamra (Tony) Vara of Pocatello, Sue (Kim) Grover and Carla (Jay) Beasley both of Blackfoot, Idaho, brother; Bradley (Jennifer) Herbst of Winston-Salem, NC.
He is preceded in death by his wife, both of his parents, sister-in-law; Sheila T. Herbst, and grandparents; John and Mabel Herbst and Elmer and Myrtie Ireton.
Graveside services for Lon will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010, at the Grove City Cemetery, 1 Willow Drive, with military rites provided by the American Legion Post No. 23.
