Lola Whitney Nez

June 17, 2014 — January 14, 2023

Lola Whitney Nez was born June 17, 2014, at 8:01pm weighing 6 lbs. 6 oz. She immediately illuminated love, determination, and peace in her family. Lola quickly showed her stubborn side and willingness to take on the world in a pure Lola fashion. She was famous for her spicy personality and her stubbornness. Lola loved everyone and made immediate friends with anyone she met. She was notorious for joining other families at park parties, church events, public celebrations, and even restaurants. Her favorite things were snuggling with her mom or dad, playing with her sister, singing in the car with her brother, ice cream, swimming, dancing and singing along to Camp Rock. Lola loved a crowd and was destined to be the star and center of attention at any event. She will forever be the life of the party. Lola passed peacefully in the arms of her mother and father on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

She will be missed by her parents Jeffery and Jessica Nez, her sister Addie and brother Asher, grandmother Lynda Willis and countless aunts and uncles, cousins and friends that completely adore her.

Lola danced her way to heaven into the open arms of her grandmother, Linda Nez, and her Papa, Brent Willis.

The family would like to thank all those in the community that loved Lola, specifically the Eastern Idaho Down Syndrome Family Connect, the families of the Special Education Parents’ Alliance of Idaho, Allies Family Solutions, Speech Blossoms, and the staff at Primary Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Lola, you fought the good fight, you always looked for the extra 10%, you were willing to reach for something further, and we never underestimated your value to us. You will be forever cherished and loved.

Funeral services will be held in Lola's honor on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 1701 Bartz Drive, Pocatello, Idaho.  The family will receive friends at a viewing to take place Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Wilks Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho; as well as for one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.  Interment will follow the services at and will take place at Mountain View Cemetery.
