Lloyd David Whitmire

Lloyd D. (Buck) Whitmire, 83, passed away on June 22, 2024.

Buck was born in Weiser, Idaho to Lloyd and Mildred Whitmire on August 9, 1941. They followed the railroad for a number of years. Later in life he joined the Navy and he served on the USS James E. Kyes.

He married Katherine Fisher, and together they enjoyed a long married life.

He loved to play golf and the slots, with Sundays being his favorite golf and slots day.

He ran BKS Sewer Service for a number of years.

He is survived by his children, Renee Jensen, Scott Whitmire, Heidi Vandom; siblings, Walt Whitmire, Larry (Helen) Whitmire, Jim Whitmire, Mary (Leonard) Zanders; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathy; his parents, Lloyd and Mildred; daughter, Traci; brother, Joseph (Red) and sister, Margeret Ruth.

A special thank you to all of the staff at the VA home in Pocatello.

He almost made it to 84 trips around the moon. RIP, Buck. We loved you.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the cemetery next to Church of the Good Shepherd, 22 N Mission Road, Fort Hall, Idaho.
