Lindsey Ann (Mumme) Peck, age 32, passed away May 18, 2017 from a heartrending infection, shutting down her body. Her husband, Shane Joseph Peck (34), of Pocatello, ID passed away two days prior of similar complications. Lindsey was born April 29, 1985 in Pocatello, ID and was the youngest child to Charles A. Mumme and Melessa Kae (Andrew) Mumme. She was the baby sister her older siblings cherished and protected.
Lindsey grew up in McCammon, ID and attended Mt. View Elementary, Marsh Valley Middle and High School.
Lindsey was a blonde haired sweetie pie her family called ‘Lindsey Lu Lu.' She was filled with laughter and brought much joy to her family and friends. Growing up, Lindsey dabbled in athletic and dance hobbies. Being active in soccer, basketball, softball and dance was very much a part of her youth. However, Lindsey loved to sing. Always singing a happy melody or she could be caught engaging in ‘sing-a-long' renditions in her bedroom as a kid, trophy for a microphone and all.
Lindsey always enjoyed the outdoors and appeared to have a somber connection with the mountains. Camping and fishing with family is something Lindsey cherished. She took pride in being able to know how to tie her own fishing hook and bait her line with a juicy worm.
Lindsey lost her mother to a terminal illness later in her teenage years. This was a difficult challenge for Lindsey In 2002 she was married to Aaron Svancara, the day after her mother's memorial services. Aaron and Lindsey later felt it to be best to end their marriage however this relationship brought one of Lindsey's greatest blessings. Lindsey gave birth to her first born, Auston A. Svancara-Peck in 2002. Lindsey had a bond with Auston that was special in its own way. She called him ‘Austy' and you could tell when she looked at him, her heart was filled with joy.
In 2004 Lindsey started dating her childhood friend, Shane Peck, and they soon became inseparable. The two lovebirds were married August 18, 2007. Shane was the love of Lindsey's life and their passion and dedication to one another is an example of ‘true love.' Shane thought of Auston as his own son. He often referred to Auston as being his ‘first born and one and only son.'
Lindsey was blessed with her daughter, Melessa ‘Lisa' Opal Peck in 2008; whom she happily named after her mother. Melessa brought continual joy into the lives of her family and was a much welcomed addition. Lindsey loved having a baby girl to ‘doll' up and cuddle. Lindsey frequently spoke to others about her joy for motherhood which brought a sense of completeness to her days.
It is Lindsey's tender-heart and love for others which will often be reflected upon. She was very sentimental and loved to share stores of memories she held so close to her heart. Lindsey often shared with her children the memories of her mother. Lindsey frequently visited her father for coffee and took him grocery shopping on many Saturday afternoons. She was an exceptional wife, daughter, sister and friend but an even more amazing mother.
Lindsey loved to laugh and have fun. She will be remembered as a caring, dedicated, tender-hearted soul. Lindsey returned to heaven on the morning of May 18, 2017. Those who were close to Lindsey are certain she was able to give her sweet mother the biggest, most long awaited hug, she so desperately needed. She was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband, whom provided comfort and joy. Their love story will continue to live on. Because of their love for each other, the family is able to cherish what Lindsey and Shane held most dear to their hearts, their sweet children.
Lindsey is preceded in death by her mother, Melessa Kae (Andrew) Mumme (McCammon, ID), her Maternal grandparents, Benny and Madaleen Andrew (Inkom, ID), Paternal grandparents, Alton and Ruth Mumme (Pocatello, ID).
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Flowers by LD for their thoughtful contribution, McCammon Ward Relief Society and all who have and continue to display acts of selflessness toward Lindsey and Shane's family, particularly the love that has been offered to Auston and Melessa at this time.
Memorial services for Lindsey will take place Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Wilks funeral home in Chubbuck, ID. A viewing will be held just prior to the funeral starting at 12:30 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at the Inkom, ID cemetery. Shane Peck's remains will rest beside his wife at these services where they will be laid to rest together. A portion of Shane's remains are being set aside for a more intimate Celebration of Life with close family and friends. The funeral services on May 25th, 2017 will emphasize the life journey of Lindsey but the family encourages all who knew and loved this family to come and support them on this day.
A GoFundMe account (Peck Family Heartbreaking Tragedy) has been established to assist with the children's affairs and their transitional care expenses. The family asks you donate to this fund in lieu of flowers and offer whatever extra resources you may have available.
