It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Kay Thompson (57) on August 4, 2024. A loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother and cherished friend. Linda left us too soon but her indomitable spirit and warmth will forever light our lives.
Linda was full of wit and humor, her quick comebacks and infectious laughter making even the most ordinary moments memorable. Her sharp mind and huge heart were a testament to her fiercely independent nature, and she never hesitated to offer advice or even the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was always accepting and caring, making everyone she met feel valued and loved.
Linda cherished family gatherings, often turning them into joyous celebrations filled with laughter and full bellies. She had a special fondness for camping and fishing, where she found solace outdoors in her RV with her husband, always finding comfort in these simple pleasures. Her beloved Little Kitty and dog, Zappa, were her constant companions, adding warmth and joy to her everyday life.
A lover of movies of every genre, Linda could often be found enjoying a film with a hearty laugh, thoughtful reflection, or jump scare. Her home was a haven for her son’s friend’s during their teenage years, a welcoming and safe space for the guys to hangout. Linda had a unique gift for making connections, whether with lifelong friends or new acquaintances, always finding a way to make each person feel at home.
For the past several years, Linda faced her body’s challenges with remarkable courage and grace. Though her body eventually gave way, her spirit and determination remained undaunted until the very end.
Linda’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and compassion. She was a cornerstone of her family and will be forever loved and missed by her Husband George Thompson, children Tyler (Dezaray) Zellmer, Paige Zellmer (Andrew Nickell), as well as her grandchildren Gracelynn Zellmer, Edward-Joseph (EJ) Zellmer, Juniper Timmons and one on the way, her brothers Leonard Kosloski and Raymond Kosloski, and her sisters Kathleen Wright and Jamie Moore. Her absence will be felt deeply, but her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.
A service to remember Linda’s remarkable life will be held at Wilks Funeral Home on August 17, 2024. Please join us for a visitation hour at 1 PM preceding her service at 2 PM. There will be light food and drink to follow for mingling following the service. We invite all who knew and loved Linda to join us in remembering a truly extraordinary woman. Please come with a story or two to share with all her family and friends to remember her by.
Linda, your light may have dimmed from our sight, but it will forever shine brightly in our hearts. Rest peacefully, beloved wife and mother. We know you are not alone as you reunite with all those we’ve lost before you. You will be deeply missed and eternally cherished.
