Linda Marie Edwards

August 23, 1944 — May 16, 2022

Linda Marie Edwards, 77, of Pocatello, Idaho passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022 after a six-month battle with cancer.  Linda was born in Akron, Ohio on August 23, 1944 to Vera and Edward Hofle.

During her life she served many roles as mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, educator, mentor, colleague, neighbor, and friend. She achieved many accomplishments, including receiving a teaching degree from the University of Akron where she was active in the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, theater, and as a residence hall floor supervisor.   She also pursued a master’s degree in speech pathology that gave her much satisfaction in her chosen career. She taught for over 30 years in California school districts, helping students overcome their speech difficulties.  She retired from teaching in June 2015 and moved to Pocatello.

Linda was an avid runner and ran the Boston Marathon, enjoyed reading books, flowers, and traveling with friends and family, but the light of her life was her family, her son, her daughter and her granddaughter.

Linda is survived by and will be truly missed by her daughter, Lauren Edwards and granddaughter Hadley Powers of San Diego, CA; her son, Michael Edwards of Phoenix, AZ; and her sister, Mary Hofle (Ken Bosworth) of Pocatello, ID.  She also leaves 5 nieces and nephews and all of their children whom she loved.  Linda also had three furry companions whom she loved and walked with: Scout, CurlyQ, and Zeus.  Linda will be remembered with love and happiness.

Arrangements for the Celebration of Life for Linda in Pocatello and San Diego are being planned for a later date.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter (https://www.pocatelloshelterfriends.org/) or the Idaho Food Bank (https://idahofoodbank.org/).

The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Quinn Meadows Rehabilitation Facility and the Portneuf Cancer Center for taking such good care of Linda.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
