Linda Lee Davis, 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014 with her husband at her side, at their home following a valiant six month battle with cancer.
Linda was born February 26, 1953, in Pocatello, Idaho to John "Cliff" and Helen Jean (Brower) Verderber, the oldest of three children. As a child she lived in Grand Junction, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; and the Blackfoot and Moreland area. She graduated from Snake River High School in 1971. She attended one year and Boise State University, where she lived in the brand new Towers where she accrued many life-long friends, and then transferred to Idaho State University to continue her education.
Linda married Mark E. Davis on June 21, 1980 in Pocatello. They soon began building their home on Diane Lane. They became the proud parents of two sons, Brandon and Jordan. She loved being involved with her boys, supporting them in all their activities, soccer, basketball, baseball, and wrestling. When her sons were old enough, she became heavily involved with scouting. She was the Troop Leader for BSA Troop 108. During this ten year period, she attended the scout camps, Klondike Derbies, the high adventures, Wood Badge, and traveled to Philmont, NM for train the leaders training. She even received her 12-month camping badge by fulfilling a monthly campout for 12 consecutive months. In the recent months, most of her scouts have made contact with her to let her know how she inspired each of them and to express their love to her.
Linda retired from ISU after working in their Accounting Department for 34 years. There she met so many wonderful people. She considered them more as family, than friends.
Linda was an avid reader, enjoyed time with family and friends, and scrapbooking. She recently took up playing Texas Hold'em and became quite good at it. She entered a tournament in Jackpot, NV and won out of the group of 80 contestants. Her deepest love was her children and grandchildren. Another milestone was reaching and maintaining her goal with Weight Watchers, of losing over 40 lbs.
Linda's family wishes to express their heart-felt gratitude to the Portneuf Cancer Center, the hospital staff and the employees of Access Home Health and Hospice. Your tender care of our wife and mother will always warms our hearts.
