Linda Kay Collins, 66, passed away peacefully in Pocatello, ID surrounded by loved ones. She touched the lives of many and maintained her positive spirit throughout her life. Linda was born on September 18, 1951 in Walla Walla, WA to Harold and Barbara Strampher. In 1969, she married Charles Buerstatte in Walla Walla and was later blessed with two children: Charles Richard (Chuck) and Laura Kay Buerstatte. In 1972 Lindas husband passed. She and her children moved to Pocatello where Linda met her best friend and love of her life, Allen Rae Collins. On December 17, 1976, Allen and Linda were married and she welcomed four additional children into her life: Rick, Russ, Terri, and Kristy. Linda was known for thinking of others and their needs first and was very dedicated to her family. She spent a majority of years as a housewife and mother supporting Allen in a successful insurance business. Once her children were older, she went to work at Allen Collins Agency until her retirement in 2001. Linda and Allen were fortunate to have the opportunity to travel the world extensively and they enjoyed their adventures together. They enjoyed spending their summers at their Pocatello home, watching the deer by the stream on their property, and helping the great-grandchildren feed the fish in the pond. Winters were spent in beautiful Lake Havasu where they played golf together and relaxed by their pool at their townhouse on the golf course, cherishing the many friends they met. Linda lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything and enjoyed doing projects, sharing her love of cooking, and being outdoors with them. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and sewing and left us with many family heirlooms. Always the perfectionist, she had the gift of making everything around her beautiful, especially her home and gardens. Linda is survived by her husband, Allen Collins; children, Chuck (RaeAnne) Buerstatte, Laura (Kraig Kugler) Buerstatte, Rick (Pam) Collins of Dakota Dunes, SD, Kristy (Steve) Piper; 11 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; children, Russ Collins and Terri Slaven; grandson, Nick Collins; and others too numerous to list but not forgotten. At Lindas request, a private family graveside service will be held. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.colonial-funeralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society. The family would also like to thank Amy and the staff at Portneuf Medical Cancer Center for their sincere care.
