Linda (Ward) Hansen, 79, of Pocatello, ID, passed away peacefully on August 28th after an extended illness.
Linda was born on July 1st, 1942 to Welton and Agnes Ward in Pocatello, ID. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1960.
In 1957 she met Vaughn, and they married in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 9, 1960. They went on to have three children, Holly, Joni and Eric.
Linda and Vaughn lived in San Francisco when they were first married and Vaughn was enlisted in the Army. They lived near the Presidio and enjoyed time as a couple during this era.
They loved to have dinner and play cards and games with friends at their house. They enjoyed having long conversations and developing deep relationships with these many of their lifelong friends. On other occasions they would go out to dinner with friends often enjoying Maddox, Chuck A Rama and other places.
She enjoyed interior decorating her house and spending time with her dogs. She was a master seamstress making draperies, her children's clothes, doll dresses and a few costumes.
Eventually she started a drapery business from inside her home and was able to add some income by creating beautiful draperies for many of the homes in Pocatello.
She spent a lot of time riding motorcycles with Vaughn and as a young mother she even had her own motorcycle.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Gayle (Ward) Jack. She is survived by her husband Vaughn Clark Hansen; her sister, Marva (Ward) Churchill; her three children, Holly (Hansen) Whiting, Joni (Hansen) Pierce and Eric Vaughn Hansen; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Friday September 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Road in Chubbuck, Idaho. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the services at Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello, Idaho.
