Lillian Rae Smith, 91, of Pocatello, Idaho passed away February 2, 2022, peacefully at home with her beloved daughter, Joan, by her side.
She was born to the late Robert and Fern Olund on January 16, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in Harper, Oregon the middle of five children: Bernice, Bob, Dewey and Norma. She graduated from high school while living near Coeur d`Alene, Idaho.
Lillian married Daniel Lynn Smith May 27, 1950. They had 7 children: Dewey Lynn (Annette), Daniel Ray, Peggy (Dean), Joan (David), John (Shauna), Paul (Shantell) and Tonia Sue. She had 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great- great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fern and Robert Olund; her husband, Daniel Lynn Smith; her son, Paul; her daughter, Tonia Sue; her brother, Bob; sister, Bernice; and many, many other dear friends and family.
Lillian loved having her family around her. Always having one grandchild or another living with her and dad.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, cardmaking, sewing, collecting, shopping, puzzles, reading and especially traveling with Joan. She loved her friends and her neighbors that have been so good to her throughout the years.
Lillian was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
We would like to thank mom’s neighbors and friends for the care they have given her the last few years as her health had declined. We would especially like to thank Joan and David for the sacrifices they have made in caring for mom. We can’t thank you enough.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11 am at Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho with a viewing from 10-10:45 am prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at the Norton Cemetery, McCammon, Idaho.
