Lillas Mae Christensen Lish, 101, was born on January 15, 1920 to Orsen William and Alice Hochstrasser Christensen in Driggs, Idaho. Lillas died January 30, 2021 in her home peacefully surrounded by her family, from Pneumonia and natural causes. At the age of 17, (1937) she met the love of her life Kenneth Verl Lish, from a blind date (he was three years her senior). After reuniting in 1939, they married on November 18th in Pocatello, Idaho, later the marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were unfortunate and could not have children of their own. In 1950 they adopted a girl Susan Rae Lish (Thomas)(passed away in 2010) in 1953 they adopted a boy Allen Kenneth Lish (passed away in 2002) Lillas and Kenneth also raised two of their grandchildren, Kellie Hoyle (Niendorf) and Kenneth Call (passed away in 1994). Lillas was a shining star to everyone she came in contact with. Her beautiful smile and kind words touched so many hearts. She was a choir director in her church, played the organ and often sang. Lillas loved her family and her community. She would give up her own comfort to help others in need. Lillas loved to bake, she was known at her ward as the cookie grandmother. Lillas was everyones aunt, and grandmother. Her husband, Kenneth Verl Lish of 53 years who passed away in 1991, has called Lillas back home with him. She is welcomed in heaven by her husband; daughter, Susan Thomas; son, Allen K Lish; grandsons, Kenny Call and Nathan Harman; great-granddaughter, Kimberley Call; parents; all her siblings; and in-laws. Her survivors include her daughter/granddaughter, Kelly/Cody Niendorf of Drummond, Idaho; grandchildren, Tracy/Pattye Lish of Oklahoma, Allena and Tom Armistead of Downey, Idaho, Lillis and Elizabeth Lish of Pocatello, Idaho, Joe/ Tracy of Nebraska, Brandie Mcammack; great-grandchildren include, Cameron Putnam from Downey, Idaho, Andrew Putnam of Washington, Havilen Bothwell of Downey, Idaho, Tyson Buss, Travis/Jessica Harman of Idaho Falls, Mike/Hailey Lish of Oklahoma, Eric/Raquelle Stuckemeyer of AZ; great-great-grandchildren, include Auburie Lish Oklahoma, Marlie McNamee, Damian Gonzalez, ReaAnn, Tysen Stuckemeyer all from Arizona, Tyler Willams, Tyson Dunn of Blackfoot, Kylee, Meilah, William Jacob Harmon of Idaho Falls, Regina Call, Caryn and Christina Carlson of California, Chase Robinson of California, Abby and Sean Sprague of California, Joey, Ricky, Carmen Drollinger of Nebraska and a few more. Lillas will be deeply missed but her memories will live on in our hearts. Special thanks to her caregivers Anna Britt, and Kellie Niendorf and also to Beverly Lish and Kathy Lish for the years they put in to take care of her. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 12 noon at the LDS church, 150 Snow Peak Boulevard in Inkom, ID, with a viewing for one hour prior. Please wear a mask and honor social distancing. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5th Avenue in Pocatello.
