Lila Rae Wallace

February 9, 1949 — January 10, 2023

Lila Rae Wallace, 73 passed away Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, she was surrounded by her family. She had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.


She was born February 9th, 1949, in Pocatello Idaho. She was immediately adopted by Warren Kyle Jenkins & Sylvia Dellasean Jenkins (Higbee.) She was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints March 3rd, 1957.


She was married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple September 18th, 1978, to William Elwin Wallace JR. (Bill.) During their marriage they were blessed with four children, Sylvia Rae, Melynda Lea, William Kyle, James Robert.


Lila was raised in Pocatello Idaho and graduated from Highland High school class of 1968. After High school she was a candy striper at the local hospital. This was something that she enjoyed.


It was sometime after this that she met Bill got married and started a family. The couple were later divorced in 1987. Lila never re-married she devoted her time to her children & then grandchildren and great grandchild. Family was everything to Lila it was all she ever talked about. Other than spending time with her family she spent a lot of time devoted to her church along with researching her family history.


Lila enjoyed getting out and going for long car rides with her family. Her favorite color was purple she loved having blankets, stuffed animals or flowers that were purple. She enjoyed reading murder mysteries, and her favorite show was NCIS if she was watching TV it was almost guaranteed to be NCIS. She loved eating onions & tomatoes, and aside from oranges she didn’t like anything orange.


She is survived by daughters, Sylvia Rae (Scott) Pendlebury, (Pocatello) Melynda Lea Wallace, (Pocatello); sons, William Kyle (Tiffany) Wallace, (Pocatello), James Robert (Kassie) Wallace, (Pocatello); along with 25 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her father, Warren Kyle Jenkins; mother, Sylvia Dellasean Jenkins (Higbee); ex-husband, William Elwin Wallace; and cousins, Jennifer Higbee, Johnathan Higbee, & Paula Higbee.


A viewing will be held on Monday, January 16th, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Colonial Chapel 2005 S. 4th Ave, Pocatello, Idaho 83201.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. with a viewing one hour prior to service, also at Colonial Chapel.

Graveside services will be followed by the service at Mountain View Cemetery 1520 S. 5th Ave, Pocatello, Idaho 83204.

A luncheon will be held on Tuesday January 17th, 2023, at the LDS church, 225 Oakwood Dr, Pocatello, Idaho 83204.
