Leroy Raymond Gilbert, 78, of Fort Hall, passed away July 28, 2015 of natural causes. He was born October 14, 1936 in Aberdeen, Idaho son of Clarence Mace and Ollive Gilbert. On December 22, 1966 he married Delores Hoffman in Logan, Utah. Together they raised 2 children which he treated as his own, Debbie and Chris. Leroy worked at ISU in the kitchen for 9 years, and later worked in the Maintenance Department for 25 years. He later retired due to a disability in 1992. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Fort Hall Branch. Leroy loved bowling, western music, western movies, watching the cooking channel and Nascar racing. He was a wonderful husband and father. He was very loved and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife, Delores Gilbert, Fort Hall, ID; daughter, Deborah Gilbert, Pocatello, ID; son, Christopher Spitz, Provo, UT; and four grandchildren, Shayla, Zach, Jonathan, and Mystie. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Laeloni Dunn; a brother and a sister. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11 AM at the LDS 40 th Ward chapel, on North Old Highway 91, with Bishop Chad Harding, conducting. Donation can be made to help defray medical cost by sending donation to Washington Federal under the name of Delores Gilbert. The family wishes to thank those that are generous enough to donate.
