Leona Rene Broncho

Our dearly beloved Leona Rene Christy-Broncho has made her journey back home at the age of 52 in Blackhawk, South Dakota January 6, 2015. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 18, 1962 to Stanley and Jennifer Baker Christy. She graduated from American Falls High School where she played basketball, volleyball and enjoyed playing the flute with the High School band. She then attended Idaho State University, Clarkdale Community College, and Great Basin Community College. From there she went to B.I.A Law Enforcement Academy where she graduated. At the time of death, she was a Special Agent with the B.I.A in South Dakota. Leona loved her choice of career; this was her passion along with traveling, doing her beadwork, gambling, visiting with her family and spending time with her cat, Sparky. She accomplished many of her dreams and goals in her life. Leona is survived by her mother, Jennifer Christy; two sisters, Jacqueline (Dan Jackson) Delacruz and Roxanne (Todd) Reese; two brothers, Michael (Ellen) Christy and Edward (Lisa Miller) Christy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Christy; and her baby daughter, Patselena; Aunts, Melba Haskett, Geraldine Doore, Ilene Hootchew; and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the LDS Church, 4010 Hawthorne Rd. Pocatello, ID 83202 (Corner of Hawthorne and Quinn Rd) with a viewing for one hour prior to the service starting at 12 Noon. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201 208-233-1500. Following the service, burial will be at the Bannock Creek Cemetery, Arbon Valley, Idaho. Cemetery Directions- While driving West on I-86, between Pocatello and American Falls, take Exit 52 (the Arbon Valley interchange).
