Lorias Lee Thompson, 80, Pocatello, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
Lee was born in Rupert, Idaho on February 24, 1934. He later moved to American Falls where he graduated from American Falls High School. He then enlisted in the United Stated Air Force. He attended three plus years of college; two of which were at B.Y.U. and one year at I.S.U. He lived his adult life in Pocatello, Idaho.
Lee married Juanita Yeager, July 18, 1953 in which they had a son, Ray, born May 7, 1954. They later divorced. He then married Joyce Velman on January 3, 1959, they had three daughters: Julie Ann born September 28, 1959, Lori Lee born January 27, 1961 and Becki Lee born December 17, 1965. They divorced in February of 1983. Lee then married Elizabeth Anne Deiro on March 6, 1983. Elizabeth's sons, Andy and Ryan Deiro also united with the family. Two and a half months after Lee's 50th Birthday, Elizabeth gave birth to their son, Jeffrey Todd Thompson on April 29, 1984.
Lee worked several years in the steel industry; Gate City Steel, Steel West as a project manager/estimator. After retirement he worked at Ovart Construction.
Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting and was on a local bowling league. He played basketball in high school and was a huge fan of all sports. He also enjoyed doing outdoor activities and his passion became GOLF. Lee enjoyed passing the time by working on crossword puzzles, watching western movies and especially liked any movie with John Wayne. When Lee was not working, he always kept busy with his family and friends. Lee was also a member of the Pocatello Elks Lodge, Juniper Hills Country Club and LDS.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Lorias Elmo Thompson, his mother, Luell Ameda Nelson, a brother, Don Thompson and sisters, Bernice Campbell and Linda Jones.
He is survived by: his wife, Elizabeth Thompson, son, Ray (JoAnn) Charlton, daughters; Julie McKnight, Lori (Jackie) Rindlisbaker and Becki (Kenny) Mathis, sons; Andy (Kris) Deiro, Ryan (Koki) Deiro and Jeffery (Erika) Thompson, brother; Lamar (Colleen) Thompson, Frank (Annett) Thompson and Jay (Kelly) Nelson, sisters; June Collings and Connie (Ron) DeJulis, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lee's family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to all of the family and friends that were involved in making Lee's life joyous and memorable.
Funeral services for Lee will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, Idaho. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Military honors will be provided by the Pocatello Veteran's Honor Guard.
