Lee Hargrove

September 6, 1934 — September 14, 2011

Our beloved father and husband Lee Hargrove passed away September 14, 2011 at Ridgewind, a health care facility. He will be greatly missed.

Lee was preceded in death by his father Lavoka Hargrove, his mother Helen Hargrove, sisters Irene Schwyhart, Katherine Cobbins, Mildred Arther, and Lula Pace. Also his cousin and best friend Dean Schwyhart with special mention for our father's compadre, Sam “the candyman” Sanchez who was our father's chosen brother for over 30 years. He is survived by sister Marjorie Larson and half-brother Bernard Pitts, wife Judy Hargrove, daughters Trina Lee Hargrove (Romi), Linda Marie Green, Katherin Dorene Coito (Mike), Karen Irene Oram (Justin), Rebecca Jo Lee Hargrove, and Jean Higgins.

Lee was born September 6, 1934 in Stone County Missouri. When he was 17 he left home and joined the Navy on November 27, 1951. During his tour of duty he served in the Korean War and received many medals for his actions. He left the Navy in 1959 and moved to Oregon where he met our mother, Judy Jones. Within a year of meeting, they were married on September 7, 1963 in Reno Nevada. They celebrated 48 years of marriage 1 week before dad past away.

In 1970, they moved to Pocatello, Idaho for a job opportunity at FMC, where our father spent the next 30 years raising his family. He started as a laborer and ended as chief of his own crew. Being the Ozark country boy that he was, he enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting, and fishing. Within his retirement years, he found great pleasure in making is bows and knives. He raised his girls to have the same love of the land as he did.

He was a man of honor and decency. A man with kindness and compassion for his fellowman was always in his heart. But above all else, he was a family man. He loved his family and always took care of us. He taught us to feel the same way. We love you Dad and we will miss you dearly. You are always in our HEARTS.
