Leda Porter

Leda Porter, 98, passed away on August 14, 2011, at an assisted living facility. Leda was born on September 26, 1912, in Wellsville, Utah, to Hans Sorensen Jr and Margaret Kington Sorensen. She was the fifth child with three more to follow. The family lived in Raft River and Robin before moving to Tyhee. Leda Married James O. (Pete) Porter on March 1, 1933. Two children were born of this union: Ray and Joan. Pete passed away August 24, 1991. Leda enjoyed doing crafts, especially beads and stuffed animals. She and Pete enjoyed their retirement years traveling and enjoying their family. Leda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was loved by many members of her ward and neighborhood. Leda was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Arlo, Vilo, Owen, and Alma; one sister, Ruby; and one grandson David Wright. She is survived by her two children Ray (Myrna) Porter, Eagle, Id., Joan (Tom) Wright, Pocatello, Id; grandchildren Tracy (Gary) Forsythe, Kearsten (Chris) McCall, Scott (Dayna) Wright, Michael (Susana) Wright, Jennifer (Bret) Campbell; great-grandchildren Aaron (Kim) Forsythe, Korbon McCall, Justice McCall, Nikelle (Ammon) Morrison, Hailee Wright, Porter Wright, Austin Campbell, Connor Campbell, Kennedi Campbell, Ellie Campbell; and great-great-granddaughter Kenzi Forsythe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
