Lawrence L. Kirby, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Pocatello. Lawrence Lee Kirby was born on September 24th, 1939 to Everett LeRoy and Ethel Pauline Kirby in Riverside, California. He was the oldest of 5 children. His family moved to Phoenix, Arizona around 1942. Where he eventually met Gloria Marie Southworth in 1956, who would forever be his Sweetheart. Lawrence and Gloria married on November 27th, 1958. Gloria gave him 3 beautiful Children over the next few years. Allen Lee Kirby, Paul Harold Kirby, and Debra LaPreal Kirby. He became a member of The Church of Latter Day Saints on November 30th, 1957. He was later sealed to his sweetheart and their children in the Idaho Falls temple on August 20th 1965. Lawrence worked for Mountain Bell telephone company as a lineman and later became a cable splicer. He closed out his career as a cable splicing foreman. He believed in hard work and held honesty and integrity to the highest of standards. Wanting to eventually move out of Arizona, he accepted a transfer with the telephone company and moved his family to Casper, Wyoming in 1963 where they stayed until finally a transfer to Pocatello, Idaho opened up in 1966. After many years Lawrence was finally able to buy a little piece of property in Inkom, Idaho to fulfill his life dream of raising his own crops and animals. He retired from the phone company in 1986. Lawrence had a great passion for teaching and loved nothing more than to teach his grandchildren about the animals he raised. He was very proud of his cattle stock and his growing dairy goat herd. Lawrence kept himself busy building and engineering anything needed to maintain his little homestead and strived to always provide the very best for his family. He enjoyed reading and leatherworking in his spare time. Lawrence in survived by his wife and eternal sweetheart Gloria Jean Kirby, his Children, Allen Kirby (Kathy Kirby) of Wasilla, Alaska, Paul Kirby (Michelle Kirby) of North Pole, Alaska, Debra Rohwer (Darrell Rohwer) of Arimo, Idaho, his Sister Leona Mikes (Robert Mikes) of Las Vegas Nevada, His Brother Larry Kirby (Dottie Kirby) of Laughlin, Nevada, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and has 2 great- great grandchildren on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Pauline Kirby, Sisters, Gloria Kirby and Linda Kirby, grandson, Trevor Lee Kirby, granddaughter, Elena May Rohwer, daughter-in-law, Debra Lynn Kirby.
