Larry Neil Anderson

Larry Neil Anderson, 71, passed away on December 12, 2021 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello with his family by his side.

Larry was born on November 17, 1950 to Dorothy Valine Roberts and Ervin Lavern Andersen in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from Highland High School in 1969. Following graduation, Larry enrolled in the Navy and served for the next four years.

After his service, Larry married Karen Arbon. He helped raise Karen’s sons Corey and Jeremy, and considered them to be his own. Karen and Larry would later divorced.

Larry worked for Shakey’s Pizza in Boise, Pocatello and eventually in Idaho Falls. He later moved to Logan, Utah and lived with Dave and Tammy while working for Weslow corp. as a fork life operator. After Weslow, Larry worked various maintenance jobs in Logan and Pocatello.

Nearing the end of his working career, Larry took time off and spent time taking senior citizens fishing. Fishing was always one of Larry’s favorite hobbies. Later on in life, his health started to decline. He spent the last six months in and out of the hospital and skilled nursing facility.

Larry is survived by Brothers Dave (Palmira) Andersen , Bill (Lois) Andersen, Sister Julene (Mark) Wasem, and Brother Kevin (Cheri) Andersen, his honorary sons Jeremy Arbon, and Corey (Jennifer) Boyd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Dorothy Andersen; and sisters Janice Dixion and Karen Thorsted.

A funeral service will be held in his honor at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 17, 2021 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 West Chubbuck Road Chubbuck, Idaho. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the services in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello, Idaho where Military Honors will be rendered.
